Sperm Wash for Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

The sperm washing process facilitates the segregation of motile sperm from immotile sperm, dead sperm and seminal fluid.

IUI is a fertility treatment that involves placing sperm inside a woman’s uterus to facilitate fertilization. The goal of IUI is to increase the number of sperm that reach the fallopian tubes and subsequently increase the chance of fertilization.
IUI provides the sperm an advantage by giving it a head start but still requires a sperm to reach and fertilize the egg on its own. It is a less invasive and less expensive option compared to In Vitro Fertilization.

Semen Analysis

Also known as a sperm count test, analyzes the health and viability of a man’s sperm. Semen is the fluid containing sperm (plus other sugar and protein substances) that’s released during ejaculation. A semen analysis measures three major factors of sperm health:
-
the number of sperm
-
the shape of the sperm
-
the movement of the sperm, also known as “sperm motility”

Histopathology

Histopathology is the study of changes in any tissue, animal or plant, associated with a disease or disorder.
In the medical context, the examination starts with sampling, either during a surgical procedure or autopsy, after which the tissue is processed for viewing under a microscope.

Drug Screen

A drug test is a technical analysis of a biological specimen, for example urine, hair, blood, breath, sweat, and/or oral fluid/saliva to determine the presence or absence of specified parent drugs or their metabolites, also known as a urine drug screen or a UDS, is a painless test.
The urine drug test usually screens for:

-
Methamphetamines
-
Barbiturates
-
PCP
-
Methadone

Micronutrients

Micronutrient test provides the most comprehensive nutritional analysis available by measuring functional deficiencies at the cellular level. It is an assessment of how well the body utilizes 31 vitamins, minerals, amino/fatty acids, antioxidants, and metabolites, while conveying the body’s need for these micronutrients that enable the body to produce enzymes, hormones, and other substances essential for proper growth, development, and good health. Repletion recommendations are made based on need.

Antenatal Profile

Pregnancy is an important phase in a women’s life and the health of the child is directly related to the health of the mother. This package is unique as it screens for important infectious diseases like HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis B in pregnant female which can be transmitted from mother to her child. Antenatal tests are important tools for protecting the health of a pregnant woman and her child. This panel of tests is performed in pregnant females to determine if the mother has any disease conditions that may interfere with normal development of the fetus and thus helping in identification of factors requiring special care.

Noninvasive prenatal tests (NIPT)

The NIPT screens for certain chromosomal abnormalities called trisomies, including trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome), and trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome). But it digs deeper, screening for certain sex chromosome aneuploidies (SCAs, abnormal numbers of X or Y chromosomes) and select microdeletions (missing parts of chromosomes).
While rare, these chromosomal abnormalities can have profound consequences in the life and health of your child. Detecting this information early can help your doctor recommend specialized care for you and your baby, before and after delivery.
Test detects the following chromosomal abnormalities:

Trisomies

Trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome)

Trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome)

-
47,XXY (Klinefelter syndrome)
-
47,XXX (Triple X syndrome))
-
47,XYY (XYY syndrome)
Microdeletions
-
22q (DiGeorge syndrome)*
-
11q (Jacobsen syndrome)*
-
5p (Cri-du-chat syndrome)*
-
8q (Langer-Giedion syndrome)*
-
1p36 deletion syndrome*
-
4p (Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome)*
-
15q (Prader-Willi syndrome; Angelman syndrome)
There are many ways to get this information, including methods such as serum screens and diagnostic procedures such as amniocentesis.
(NIPT) Noninvasive prenatal test, is different from both. It has higher detection rates than serum screening1 (determined to be 97.9% positive predictive value for trisomy 21 in a high-risk cohort2), and requires only a blood draw from the mother; amniocentesis requires withdrawing fluid from around the developing baby. Most women who get the test will screen negative for chromosomal abnormalities and may not require further testing. However, any patient with a positive test result may be offered genetic counseling and/or diagnostic testing for confirmation of test results.

Celiac (Gluten) Disease Panel

These tests can help determine if you have celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder in which the body attacks itself with its own antibodies. With celiac, the ingestion of gluten (a protein found in wheat and barley) triggers an immune response which means that your own immune system attacks your small intestine. These tests check for certain antibodies (transglutaminase IgA and others) that your immune system would create if it were hypersensitive to gluten. For accurate results, your diet should include gluten at the time of testing.

You might consider testing when experiencing the following:
• Digestive problems including abdominal pain, bloating, gas, diarrhea, weight loss, or foul-smelling stool
• Unexplained rash, joint symptoms, or anemia

This test does not require fasting.
